Study Group May 2010
The team welcomed Dr Huw Martin-Jones DDS to K2 this time. Huw is a Dentist with over 35 years experinece in TMJ problems. Huw talked to the team about TMJ and postural changes and the links between Osteopathy and Orthopedic Orthodontics. Huw and Steve Palmer Clinic Director have known each other and have been working together for 10 years now. They regularly work together and treat patients together. Huw has his practice in Edinburgh, Scotland and flew down to get treated by Steve and attend the group. Pictured here HMJ, far left.
Study Group March 2010
The team had their second study group of the year, at K2 again.
After a review of anatomy of Lower back Pain, we looked at the different ways of stabilising patients with slightly different causes of this common pain. Following on from this we then discussed post operative rehab for patients following different types of back surgery..
Our next study group is in May.......
Study Group Feb 2010
The bodycare team had their Feb. study group at K2. We invited the excellent personal trainers from K2 Gym to discuss patient examination and core stability from our point of view. We then started to discuss this in relation to injure
ries and 'problem areas' that they find their gym clients have.
The team then discussed problem solving for difficult technical cases and practiced advanced palpation(touch), in relation to tissue diagnosis.

12/2009 Study group Dec 2009
On 12 Dec the BodyCare team had their Christmas study group. At the group the team had a very informative lecture from Alison a local Pharmacist who talked about current pain management and drug treatment. We also then looked at ''balancing the diaphragms of the body'' on 2 models who have been treated by Steve.
One had had recurrent Chiropractic treatment for 10 years and the other had pain full foot for over a year.
We looked at treatment and rehab for these patients and then looked at long term resolution of their problems. All Bodycare Osteopaths regularly attend 'in-house'' study groups.

2009/12/01 Looking forward to helping Neil Hide complete the marathon on Friday

2009/12/02 Pre-marathon tune up!

2009/12/06 WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!
The finish line.............................26 hours of Neil playing Squash!!!
He had an amazing team helping him achieve this fantastic feat. He started at 1pm on friday and finished at an exhausting 5pm the following day. Frankly we do not know how he did it.
When confirmation comes through neil will hold the world record for the longest squash game.
Steve was part of the team playing neil and his personal Osteopath for the event, which was raising money for Great Ormond Street's Children's Hospital.
''Playing squash at 1.30 in the morning is a little surreal'' says Steve who on call & slept by the court over night on his treatment table.
''Thanks Steve, I could not have done this without the help of you and the team''
